For the chop

I have finally managed to get an othopedic specialist to tell me what I already knew about my thumb - raptured ulnar collateral ligamets. More imporantly - this kind chap is going to do something about it!

Surgery is booked for September 13th, no fuss, no bother. Just rock up, get knocked out cut up, sewn up, woken up and be done with it. It sounds like a fairly simple procedure but going under a general doesn't hold great appeal. Oh well, will be good to have it sorted.

And all thanks to that most equitable of social schemes... Corporate Private Health Insurance through THG. Buggered if I know what I would have done without it.
